Currency Converter

Convert between the Pakistani rupee and the currencies that matter most for remittances, travel and imports. Rates load live, and you can type your own rate from a bank or exchange company.

How to use the Currency Converter

  1. Enter the amount.
  2. Choose the from and to currencies (use Swap to flip them).
  3. Optionally type your bank’s rate to override the live rate.

Formula

Amount in To = Amount × (rate of To ÷ rate of From)

Example

To see what 500 US dollars is in rupees, pick USD to PKR and enter 500.

Interbank, open market and bank rates

The rate shown here is a mid-market reference. Banks and exchange companies buy and sell at slightly different rates and add a margin. The open market rate in Pakistan can also differ from the interbank rate, so the rupees you actually get may be a little lower.

Sending money home

For remittances, compare the exchange rate and fees together. A service with zero fee but a poor rate can cost more than one with a small fee and a good rate. Banking channels also help with Roshan Digital and remittance incentive schemes.

Importing and pricing in dollars

If you buy stock priced in dollars or yuan, convert at a slightly worse rate than today to leave a buffer for rate changes before you pay. Then use the selling price calculator to set a safe shelf price.
