Business calendar Pakistan

Every important date for your business.

Tax deadlines, public holidays and expected Islamic dates for the next 12 months, in one list. Islamic dates depend on moon sighting; tax dates can be extended by FBR.

Key business dates every year in Pakistan

Pakistan’s tax year runs from 1 July to 30 June. Salaried people, business owners and companies deal with a few fixed deadlines every year, and many shops and offices plan staff leave around Ramadan, the two Eids and Muharram.

  • Sales tax return: monthly, usually filed by the 18th, with tax paid by the 15th.
  • Advance income tax instalments: usually 25 September, 25 December, 25 March and 15 June.
  • Withholding statements: quarterly, usually by the 20th of January, April, July and October.
  • Income tax return: usually 30 September for individuals and AOPs, and 31 December for companies with a June year-end — often extended.
  • Zakat: banks deduct it from savings accounts on 1 Ramadan unless you have filed an exemption declaration.
  • Federal holidays: 5 February, 23 March, 1 May, 28 May, 14 August, 9 November and 25 December, plus Eid, Ashura and 12 Rabi ul Awwal.

Islamic dates move about 11 days earlier every year because the Hijri year is shorter than the solar year. The calendar above works out the next expected dates for you and updates itself every day.

Tax dates follow the usual FBR schedule (tax year 1 July – 30 June) and are often extended — always confirm on fbr.gov.pk. Islamic dates are expected dates from the Umm al-Qura calendar, shifted one day for Pakistan, and depend on the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee announcement. Holidays are federal; provinces may announce more.
