Electricity Bill Calculator
Estimate your monthly electricity bill from the units on your meter, using the 2026 NEPRA residential tariff for protected, non-protected and lifeline consumers, with fixed charges, fuel adjustment and sales tax.
How to use the Electricity Bill Calculator
- Enter the units used this month (current reading − previous reading).
- Enter your sanctioned load in kW (it is printed on your bill).
- Choose protected, non-protected or lifeline.
- Add this month’s fuel adjustment if you know it, and check the sales tax.
Formula
Example
A non-protected home using 250 units with a 2 kW load pays 250 × Rs 33.10 = Rs 8,275 for energy, plus Rs 700 fixed charges and Rs 808 FC surcharge, then 18% sales tax — about Rs 11,540.
Protected and unprotected consumers
Domestic consumers who used 200 units or less in each of the last six months are usually treated as protected and get lower slab rates. Going above 200 units even once can move you to unprotected rates for months, which is why one hot month can raise bills for a long time.
Reading your bill
- Units consumed = present reading − previous reading
- Cost of electricity from the slab rates
- Fuel price adjustment (FPA) and quarterly adjustments
- Electricity duty, sales tax and TV fee
- Arrears and late payment surcharge
Ways to cut the bill
Use inverter ACs at 26°C, switch to LED lights, run heavy appliances outside peak hours if you have a time-of-use meter, and keep monthly units under the slab limits. The solar calculator shows what size system could cover your usage.

Frequently asked questions
Why did my bill jump after 200 units?
Using more than 200 units in any month makes you non-protected for the next six months. Non-protected bills charge every unit at the higher slab rate.
Which companies does this cover?
The same NEPRA residential table applies to LESCO, IESCO, MEPCO, FESCO, GEPCO, PESCO, HESCO, SEPCO, QESCO, TESCO and K-Electric. Taxes and adjustments on the bill can differ.

How do I count units from the meter?
Subtract the previous reading on your last bill from the current meter reading.
Why is the bill higher than the calculator?
